Investment Planned

The Tavern in the Town will play a pivotal role in the master plan to revamp this part of Tamworth's town centre. Nearby investments include the £6.2m refurbishment of the local assembly rooms across the road, the creation of a new restaurant and enhancements to the public highway/footpaths. It is also very close to the drop off point for several public transport routes for the town. There is a considerable amount of regeneration happening within the area, meaning the pub is in a prime opportunity.

Star Pubs and Bars are planning an extensive refurbishment to create a broader customer experience that will appeal to a wider range of client types, with an offer taking in cask ale, premium lager and fine spirit. The pub should set out its stall to attract shoppers and workers, and females as well as males, and a simple, fast-paced food offer will increase dwell time and enhance the pub's reputation.

Trading Area & Facilities

Internally the pub will have a front area with vertical drinking and higher seating for those that want to meet and drink with friends whilst the rear section will have boothed seating and a more relaxed dining style feel. We are also looking to implement a basic but proven food offer.

The rear outside area will have a mix of seating and floor finishes and this will be the stand out external area in the town and will be visible to all the passing footfall. As part of the refurbishment we will look to implement a covered area with the opportunity for an outside bar which will be completely unique to the area.

The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, kitchen & bathroom and a lounge and where required there will be appropriate works carried out in line with the Star Pubs & Bars ready To Trade Promise.
