The Sportsman is a popular and respected community pub that sits within a highly populated residential area in Sheffield. With over 3,500 adults living within 10 minute walk of the pub, 14,000 within 20 min walk and a good sized car park - this local benefits from plenty of trade.

The Sportsman is known locally as a place to gather with friends to watch the hottest sporting events or enjoy a quality pub meal with family. Pub games such as pool and darts are also popular, along with the pub's rear terrace which becomes a hot spot on a warm summer afternoon.

We are intending to invest £137,000 into the site to enhance it for the local community. We will extend the kitchen, to create a separate preparation and wash up area allowing us to create a fantastic food offer that can be delivered throughout the day and during busy periods. The interior decoration of the pub will also be great improved with new cladding, colour scheme and an upgraded back bar fitting.

The investment will also create an amazing external space to the rear of the pub that will give a real USP in the local area. We will be enhancing the current terrace with the addition of a large covered Pergola incorporating heating, lighting and TVs to make this an all year round trading area. In addition the whole terrace will feature festoon lighting to give it real standout and usability into the evening featuring a mix of loose and fixed seating, with over 100 external covers. In addition we will be adding children's play equipment to the grassed area off the existing decking to create a great family space. The external developments will make the Sportsman the place to be in area for the summer months.

Inside, The Sportsman is very appealing due to its stripped back floorboards, modern paintwork and variety of seating which includes booths. There is plenty of space for a pool table, and this split bar operation would allow semi private functions to be catered to. The pub is home to 8 TVs making it a must-go destination for any sporting event!

Outside, there is an attractive beer garden that will be undergoing an extensive development to increase trading space, alongside the additional of a new children play area. There is also a private car park with 20+ spaces available.
