Carters Rest

Charming Cask Ale Pub

Famous for its real ales, Carters Rest is a charming, historic community pub, located in the Wiltshire village of Wroughton, a couple of miles south of Swindon. Sitting in a prominent position on the high street, the pub benefits from great passing trade and custom from locals and visitors to the North Wessex Downs. This is a key route between Swindon and the World Heritage Site at Avebury, with a population of about 8,000.

Currently the offer is focused on ales and is based around a combination of product quality, service and price. To excel, the Carters Rest needs to be the hub of the neighbourhood, a focal point for locals. Supporting the many and varied interest groups of the community; darts, pool, fund raising, local schools, business networking, whatever they may be, is key. There is a superb opportunity for introducing an all-day food offer of quality bar snacks and classic pub food.

Community Focused Entrepreneur Wanted

The ideal operator at this site will have run a similar, customer focused business before and be very community focused. Some catering experience would be beneficial, but extensive food knowledge isn't necessary. You must, however, have a very good knowledge of real ale and real ale trends, as this does form such a large part of the operation here.
