Winterproofing garden doubles capacity

When Mark Anderson of the award-winning Ruddington Arms took on the White Lion, Bingham, he wanted to create a great community pub. Popular with drinkers, he set out to broaden the pub’s appeal and create the best outdoor eating and drinking space in the area. To ensure maximum usage in the winter it's weather-proofed. A heated shelter ensures the outdoor pool table is in constant use.
Fire pits create communal seating areas and heated garden sheds with hot water bottles and blankets provide private drinking and dining spaces. Mark said: “The outside has doubled the pub’s capacity. People sit around the fire pit all night and are outside drinking and playing pool whatever the weather. Customers like to eat and drink outside as much as possible, so it is worth investing in your outdoor area if you can.”
