The Stag in Stoke Poges gets a new lease of life

The Stag

Building work has been completed at The Stag in Stoke Poges, after receiving a major £411K investment by Star Pubs & Bars. A further £90,000 was invested in fixtures and fittings by the new lessee of the pub, Cevat Bumali.

The funds were spent transforming the pub inside and out into what Star Pubs & Bars believe will prove to be one of the best family friendly food pubs in the area.

Work on The Stag included the demolition of redundant buildings, which were replaced by rear and side extensions to increase the internal seating area, the construction of a new bar and the addition of a carvery. New entrance porches and toilets, landscaping of the rear garden and patio areas and a new children’s play area were all undertaken as part of the refurbishment.

The Stag was recently taken on by experienced publican Cevat Bumali, who was attracted by the company’s plans for the business. The pub now offers carvery style food and a grill bar as well as coffee and Wi-Fi.

Mr Bumali said: “I was attracted to the Stag because of its location and the friendliness of the people in the area. It needed investment to bring it up to the high standards expected by the residents of Stoke Poges. The intention is that when it reopens it will be at the heart of the community, providing a great place to eat and for families to come together.”
