Prestwick bar keeps the Christmas spirit alive

A Prestwick bar is to open on Christmas day but they won’t be making a penny. Instead 7 Saints licensee, Nick Livingstone, and his staff have committed to donate all the day’s taking and their wages at double time to local children’s charities

“Christmas is a time for giving and we wanted to give something back to the area we serve. Christmas is a special time for children so supporting those who are in need seemed the perfect choice,” explains Nick.

The bar will open from 12 to 5pm selling drinks including teas and coffees. Staff will work for free and all the money taken, not just the profits, will be distributed to good causes. 7 Saints staff are kicking off the day’s fundraiser by putting in their £300 of wages but hope to raise much more.

“It will give people the chance to get out of the house before or after their Christmas dinner and know they’re doing a good deed at the same time by making life easier for a local child in difficulties,” says Nick.

7 Saints is a Star Pubs & Bar bar. Lawson Mountstevens, Star Pubs & Bars Managing Director said: “Pubs and bars can be a real force for good in their communities. Thanks to the generosity of licensees and pub goers, they provide much needed funding for charities around the country. 7 Saints is an inspiring example – they are saints by name as well as by nature.”
