In it for the Long Haul: The Licensees Celebrating Long Servicf

Shaun Slater of The Black Rock, Wakefield is the latest licensee to receive a Star Pubs & Bars long service certificate in recognition of his 20 years at its helm. Shaun was 14 when he started stocking shelves at The Black Rock in 1981 and, including his years as a staff member, has clocked up nearly four decades there.  The pub has stood the test of time and in 2017 had its busiest year ever.  Under Shaun’s stewardship it has won numerous awards and a Good Pub Guide listing for the last 14 years.

Congratulations also to the many other Star licensees who celebrated significant anniversaries at their pubs during 2018 including: Mike Brown, The Anglers, Saxilby; Pauline Boswell, The Royal Hotel, Sheffield; Noel Buckley and Peter Speak, the Crown Hotel, Colne; Alan and Jackie Burgwin, The Bentlands, Codsall; Lee Frost, the Coach & Horses, Newgate St Village, Sanda and George Marsh, the George Hotel, Youlgreave and Jean Thompson, The Sea View, Whittle.
