The Railway Pub Post Refurb

When licensees Mark Osborne and David Hage took on the closed Railway, Lowdham, they soon made it their own with a stunning refurbishment and quirky train-related fixtures and fittings -  seats made from old suitcases and section of a real railway track.  Star’s F&F policy helped with cashflow enabling them to spec the kitchen to a high standard. 

Six months after opening, they’re consistently trading 50% above forecast for food and 20% for drinks and are shortlisted for two Nottinghamshire awards – best new pub and best gastro pub. David commented:  “Having high spec kitchen equipment has helped us cope with the high volume. We’ve been so busy we’ve been turning people away – never a good idea! We’re already considering adding a conservatory or converting old barns behind the pub as we could fill them every week.” Watch their video here
